Al Nasr v Al Ahli Pre-Match Press Conferences
Al Nasr head coach Walter Zenga stressed that concentration will be key as his side host second-placed Al Ahli at the Al Maktoum Stadium on Friday night. “Focus is one of the most important elements in this game if we are to get a positive result against a good team ranked second in the table. The players are completely ready for this game and we don’t have any significant absences from the squad apart from Khalifa Mubarak, who is suspended,” the Italian confirmed.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Al Ahli head coach Quique Flores said his team’s performance will not suffer as a result of suspensions suffered in defense. Basheer Saeed, Abdulaziz Haikal and Yousif Mohamed are all suspended for the game at Al Nasr, but the Spaniard is not worried about the absences, saying: “I have a squad of many players and I am confident that anyone who deputises for their suspended teammates will perform their duties to the fullest.” Flores anticipates a difficult match as Al Nasr continue to evolve and improve as a team over time, pointing to a good synergy and understanding between Al Nasr’s players on the pitch. Commenting on rumours in the media that Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma may be on his way out of the club in a move to the Turkish league, Flores said: “I have no idea about this and these kind of rumours are part of football. The player is very happy here at Al Ahli and my focus is now on the whole team for the remaining fixtures of the season.”
