Al Nasr to host Lekhwiya at Al Maktoum Stadium tonight
Following their heart-breaking 0-1 defeat at the hands of Sepahan at the Foolad Shahr Stadium in the opener of their 2012 AFC Champions League competition, Al Nasr players are looking forward to make amends when they host Qatars Lekhwiya in the second round of the competition at Al Maktoum Stadium this evening at 8:00 pm.
It is the first time for both sides in the AFC campaign, Lekhwiya leads the Qatari’s league with 41 points in the table, two points away from being crowned champions for the second time. Motivated by their 1-0 win over Saudi giants Al Ahli in the first round of the AFC competition, the Qatar team goes on the pitch tonight with a high fighting spirit. On the other hand Al Nasr still have to make up for their surprising 0-1 defeat before bottom table Dubai in the Pro League competition moving down to the third place on the standings with 28 points. Despite the lack of continental experience, Al Nasr Have showed a good performance before Sephan in the ACL and made it hard on their hosts to snatch a victory. The Dubai-based team is expected to be at their best tonight and to prove that they are back in the competition.
Al Nasr have done their trainings in the past few days and the head coach assured that his team is ready physically and mentally to the AFC test and that he has big hopes that his players will do pride for their nation. Zenga may probably field keeper Abdulla Mosa, defenders Masoud Hassan,Hilal Saeed, Mahmoud Hassan and Mohammed Ali, midfielders Habib Fardan, Lima, Mark Bresciano and Humaid Abbas, strikers Luca Toni and Amara Diane.
Lakhwiya have done two trainings since they arrived Duabi held in Al Nasr club as mentioned in the AFC regulations.
