Al Nasr hold hosts Sharjah to a 1-1 draw
Dubai-based Al Nasr and their hosts Sharjah shared the points of their Etisalat Pro-League Competition round 16 game played this evening at Sharjah stadium after being tied to a 1-1 draw. Both teams added one point to their tally to remain in their previous positions with 22 points each. Sharjah are taking 6th position and Al Nasr staying in 7th spot. Sharjah overcame Al Nasr 2-1 in their head-to-head game in round 5 and this gave them the priority to sit one step ahead of Al Nasr.
The home squad took the initiative to put more pressure on the visiting team's defenders who were able to spoil all their rivals' attempts. The home team's players played with more concentration and took them only 10 minutes to find the back of the net through their teammate Lazarati who launched a severe volley off a stand ball that deflected by Osam Dhahi into the net giving his side a 1-0 lead. Al Nasr's goalie tried to control the ball after Dhahi changed its direction, but he couldn't for the ball to go straight into the net.
The visiting team recovered afterwards making a lot of work to level the score but they lost all the chances they created through the whole first session. Al Nasr intensified their attacks after the break and they looked the better side. Also it took them only 10 minutes into the second half to bring the game to the first square when Younis Ahmed received the ball of Ismail Bangora's perfect pass before sending a strong shot to the keeper's left hand side making it 1/1. The two teams continued their efforts trying to score the winner. They demonstrated a balanced display, creating a number of scoring chances, but they missed the target to end the game with a 1-1 draw.
