Al Nasr and Dubai share points
Both Dubai-based teams Al Nasr and Dubai shared points when they were tied to a 1-1 draw in their Etisalat Pro-League round 14 match played tonight at Al Maktoum Stadium. The hosts added one more point to raise their tally to 20 points to slip to 8th position while their rivals Dubai have a balance of 13 points, the same that collected by Al Dhafra to remain in 9th spot on goal difference.
The two teams demonstrated a poor display in the first half and failed to hit the back of the net after the rare and weak chances they created. Hussain Ibrahim of Al Nasr squad came close to put his team in the lead off the ball he sent in the 19th minute but it rebounded off the bottom of the left upright. Dubai were the better side and looked close to score as they put some pressure on the opponents' defence.
Both squads exerted more efforts before the break looking for an early good that can help them to take the lead, but the defenders spoiled all their attempts to end the first session with a goalless draw.
The visitors were the first to find the target through Abu Bakr Camara who capitalized on the ball switched by his French colleague Michel Laurent from the right flank three minutes after the break. Inspired by their first goal, the visitors continued their performance with great confidence trying to double their score while the hosts did everything to level the result. Al Nasr were awarded a penalty in the 62nd minute when one of Dubai's defenders touched the ball with his hand and Leonardo Lima made no mistake when he converted the ball into the net making it 1-1.
The hosts and the visitors worked hard in the last minutes of the game, creating a handful of opportunities in front of the goal mouth but they squandered all of them to end the game with a 1-1- draw.
