Bani Yas reach semi-finals of Gulf Clubs Championship 28

Bani Yas defeated Bahrain’s Al Mufarraq on penalties to progress to the semi-finals of the Gulf Clubs Championship 28 in Manama on Tuesday night. The match finished 1-1 after normal time, with Uche giving Al Mufarraq the lead in the 57th minute before Bani Yas’ Swedish winger Christian Wilhelmsson equalised in the 73rd minute for the visitors. With the scores level after 90 minutes and a period of extra time, the result was decided on penalties, with Amer Abdulrahman, Yousef Jaber, Nawaf Mubarak and Christian Wilhelmsson successfully converting to send Bani Yas through to the semi-finals of the tournament, where they will face Saudi Arabia’s Najran.
