Al Junaibi assures successful competitions in the upcoming season without long breaks
Abdulla Al Junaibi Vice Chairman of the Interim Pro- League Committee, Chairman of the Technical Committee and official spokesman, said that there are two main things that considered a priority in the committee's work for the upcoming season.
"We are entering the fourth season of professionalism which we hope will be more successful than the previous seasons. Our main objective is to carry out the priorities that lead us to achieve success and excellence in the next season 2011-2012. The first of these two issues is the general shape of the competitions and solving out the long breaks that occurred in the last season. The breaks had highly affected the preparation of the professional league clubs. This is along with the keenness of the Interim Committee to grant adequate and enough periods for the National teams to prepare for their forthcoming competitions without long breaks", Al Junaibi confirmed.
He added: "The second thing which is one of the priorities of the committee's work is to increase the income of the clubs out of the income of the sponsorship of the professional league competitions for the next season in a way that contributes to the financial budgets of the member clubs."
The deputy chairman of the Interim Pro- League Committee said they are keen that all the member clubs in the Professional League should apply all the criterion and special conditions set by the Asian Football Confederation concerning the stadiums and its annexes.
"We hope all the clubs should devour, especially those who have some deficiencies in its facilities, to complete them before the start of the season and prior to the visit of the inspecting delegation of the Professional League Committee in the coming weeks, so we can show our readiness during the visit of the AFC delegation, scheduled for next October."
On the other hand Abdullah Al Junaibi had chaired a meeting held last week with Abu Dhabi and Dubai Sports Channels in the presence of Khalid Al Fahim, member of the Interim Pro-League Committee, Hassan Habib, the deputy director of Dubai Sports Channel and Yaakoub Al Saadi, Director of programs in Abu Dhabi Sports channel, along with Carlo Nohra CEO of the Interim Pro-League Committee and Joseph Mouawad Director of Sports Section.
During the meeting, the agenda of the competitions for the season 2011-2012 were endorsed by Abu Dhabi and Dubai channels, after being reviewed and revised, besides the distribution of match coverage to the two channels, where each covers the games of six clubs in the Etisalat Pro-League and the Etisalat Cup in the pitches of the following clubs:
Abu Dhabi Sports Channel: Al Jazira, Al Wahda, Al Ain, Bani yas, Sharjah and Ajman.
Dubai Sports Channel: Al Nasr, Al Wasl, Al Ahli, Al Shabab, Dubai and Emirates
It was also decided to hold a monthly meeting with the two sports channels, to discuss all the developments, in addition to naming "week's top game" and talk about all matters related to this issue, in addition to a criterion that determine the quality and number of cameras used to cover the games. This criterion should be endorsed by all parties in the upcoming meetings, and a coordinator was agreed to be recruited to follow the channels' commitment to the endorsed regulations.
