Al Jazira defeat Emirates 4-1 to remain on top of the table
Al Jazira raised their tally to 16 points after beating Emirates 4-1 in the Etisalat Pro League six round game played tonight at Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi while Emirates balance was frozen at three points taking 10th place.
Despite of the Emirates early lead with the quickest goal in the league so far scored by the Nigerian player Orok, but Al Jazira brought the game back to the golden square in the 8th minute via Ricardo Oliveira after a perfect pass from the left fullback Abdullah Mousa for Oliveira to send a rocket-like volley to make it 1-1 and Bare added the second goal one minute later after rounding up Emirates defender before sending the ball into the left hand side of the custodian Ahmed Al Shaji. Abdullah Jasim added the third goal for Al Jazira in the 25th minute off a pass from Ibrahima Diaky. Al Jazira goalkeeper Khalid Essa saved brilliantly when Iranian Nouri sent a strong shot for Essa to deflect it to a corner four minutes before the end of the first half.
The two coaches made some substitutions after the break and Ghazi Al Gharaericoach of the Emirates Team tried to reduce the deficit and then come out with at least a draw while Vercauteren made the changes aiming at giving a rest for some of his players and fielding in some reserve players to test their technical standard.
Ricardo Oliveira scored his second personal goal and his team’s 4th goal two minutes into injury time capitalizing on a defensive mistake that set him free with only the goalkeeper Ahmed Al Shaji to beat ending the game with a 4-1 win for Al Jazira.
