Al Jazira beat Bani Yas 3-1 to snatch leadership

Al Jazira snatched the top spot of the Etisalat Pro-League for the 2011/2012 season from Al Wasl to stay on top of the table on goal difference with a balance of 7 points after beating Bani Yas 3-1 in the third round game which was held this evening at Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, while Bani Yas remained with one point. Al Jazira scored the first goal in the 38th minute through Brazilian Barry and Yousuf Jaber leveled the result in the 38th minute. Oliveira netted the second goal for the winners in the 56th minute, and secured the three points for his team off a penalty kick in the last minute of the injury time.

The two teams created some scoring chances in the opening minutes through Juma'a Abdullah of Al Jazira off a header in the 3rd minute and another sitter squandered by Sengahoor of Bani Yas in the 7th minute also off a perfect header.

Al Jazira opened the score in the 38th minute when Oliveira sent a strong left-footer that cleared by the goalie for Bari to slam it home, but Yousuf Jaber made it 1-1 one minute before the break.

Oliveira put the home team again into the lead when he scored the second goal only 11 minutes after the interval after passing Bani Yas's last defender Fahd Ahmed and then rounded up the goalkeeper before sending the ball into the empty net.

Bani Yas's coach Vieira fielded in Toni from Ivory Coast to replace French striker Trezeguet in the 69th minute but the player was not pleased with this decision.

The winners' custodian Khalid Essa made brilliant saves in the last minutes before the referee Mohammad Abdul Karim awarded his team a penalty when Diaky was fouled inside the box and Oliveira made no mistake scoring the 3rd goal in the 93rd minute.
