The 45 Minutes Match
Curtains fell down on Round 10 with the smashing breathtaking local derby Al Jazira vs. Al Wahda that took place this evening at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium within the Etisalat Pro League competition. The defending champions were starving for the 3 points after series of misfortunate encounters and were consistent to get back into the competition. The 2011 league champions successfully snatched a spectacular 4-2 victory over their local opponents Al Wahda in the game that put their anticipation into action.
Al Jazira reined the pitch throughout the first half and were more controlling, yet both teams were aimlessly shooting and wasted a lot of close to score shots. Ali Mabkhout almost netted for Al Jazira in the 38th minute. Ismael Matar could have earned a certain goal if he passed the ball to Hugo but he chose to shoot and wasted a score in the 43rd minute. Another chance for Al Wahda came through Baiano in the 48th minute but went invain. And the first half ended with a Zero draw.
Six goals in 45 minutes set the pitch on fire throughout the second half. Lucas Neil who netted Al Jazira first goal in the 50th minute was followed immediately by Baiano who scored the equalizer in the 51st minute. Al Wahda felt for a moment that they can win this game and were determined to do so, 20 minutes later the dream was close when Hugo gifted his team the second goal in the 71st minute. But again Ali Mabkhout scored a tie in the 78th minute. Last 5 minutes two rewarding shots for Al Jazira through Delgado and Bare in the 85th and 90th minutes turned all hopes for Al Wahda into sand.
The 2011 league champions who were served by the Al Shabab vs Al Ain draw happily return to the second position on the pro league table with 20 points, whereas Al Wahda with 16 points rank 5th on the standings.
