Al Jazira maintain a 3-2 hard fought win over Al Rayyan
Abu Dhabi-based Al Jazira raised their tally to six points to remain on top of Group (A) of the AFC Champions League following their 3-2 hard fought win over Al Rayyan of Qatar in the second round match held tonight at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The two teams demonstrated a brilliant display from the start with the hosts taking superiority over their rivals.
Oliveira opened the score for Al Jazira only seven minutes into play, and Ibrahima Diaky made eight minutes after the interval before his colleague Abdullah Mousa scored the third goal in the 56th minute.
Daniel Goumou reduced the deficit in the 64th minute and Fabio Caesar scored the second goal in the 77th minute.
Al Jazira coach Caio Junior started the match with a line-up including Ali Khaseif as goalkeeper; Lucas Neil, Abdullah Mousa, Salem Masaud and Juma'a Abdullah in defence; Delgado, Subait Khatir, Ibrahim Diaky and Yasser Matar in midfield with Oliveira and Bare spearheading the frotline.
The match witnessed the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The Honorary Chairmanship of Al-Jazira Club and Chairman of the Honorary Panel, and was received upon his arrival to the club by His Excellency Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chairman of Al Jazira Club.
