Al Jazira make it to the semifinal with a 6-2 win over Ajman
The defending champions Al Jazira succeeded in qualifying to the semifinal of the President's Cup Competition following their deserved 6-2 win over Ajman in the quarterfinal game played tonight on Al Wasl pitch in Zabeel to put an end to the losers' ambitions.
The two teams started the match with a balanced display among several attempts from both sides with all the hope to score an early goal. Ajman lost two sitters in the opening minutes through their Lebanese professional player Hassan Maatouq. The Lebanese striker received a cross pass from his teammate Ibrahima Tore, he headed the ball perfectly but for his bad fortune it was saved by Al Jazira's defender Khalid Sabeel only 10 minutes from the word go. He came to launch a rocket-like volley two minutes later, but his shot was deflected by the goalkeeper.
The two sides went on their balanced performance for Ali Mabkhoot, who was in a good condition, to score the first goal in the 27th minute. He added the second goal three minutes later capitalizing on Ricardo Oliveira's perfect pass who came himself to make it 3-0 when his colleague Ali Mabkhoot crossed the ball inside the box and the goalkeeper failed to control it for the unmarked Oliveira to drive it into the empty net. Ajman made some good efforts afterwards but failed to score to end the first half with a 3-0 victory for Al Jazira.
The winners continued to control the game after the break to add three more goals through Delgado in the 72nd minute and Oliveira who netted two goals in the 76th and 92nd minutes scoring a hat trick while Hassan Maatooq and Ibrahima Tore scored two goals for Ajman in the 54th and 80th minutes respectively to end the match with a 6-2 result for Al Jazira.
