Al Jazira lose to Al Gharafa 2-5 to remain last
Al Jazira disappointed their fans after losing to Al Gharafa of Qatar 2-5 in the 2011 AFC Champions League round 5 match played this evening at Thani Bin Jasim Stadium in Doha. The winners raised their tally to seven points to remain in third position reviving their hopes in the continental competition as they are only three points behind joint leaders Sepahan of Iran and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.
Younis Mahmoud opened the score for the home team only ten minutes into play. But Ahmad Juma'a netted the equalizer with a perfect header in the 31st minute and Brazilian Oliveira made it 2-1 off a penalty nine minutes before the break. The Qatari side came to net four goals in the second half through Amara Diane in the 47th minute, Merghani Al Zain in the 60th minute and Younis Mahmoud in the 62nd and 80th minutes.
