Al Jazira beat Al Ahli with a 5-1 thrilling victory

Al Jazira humiliated Al Ahli beating them 5-1 in the match played this evening at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in round 15 of Etisalat Pro-League to keep their winning streak and leadership of the competition after raising their balance to 39 points. The losers are sitting in their previous 4th place provisionally 22 points.

The two teams played a balanced first have with the hosts having more control on the game. Most of play was concentrated on the midfield and this did not help both teams to create dangerous attacks. AL Jazira came many times close to score, but they squandered all the opportunities they created inside and outside the box. The visitors also created some golden sitters, but they failed to score. The most dangerous threat came in the last minute of the first session when Brazilian player bare received a lovely pass inside the penalty area, moved forward  with only the goalkeeper to beat, but his close-range shot was saved bravely by AL Ahli's  custodian to end the first session with a goalless draw.

The home team put more pressure on the visiting team's defense line from the first minute of the second session. Argentinean player Delgado put Al Jazira in the lead only eight minutes after the break off a stand ball. Inspired by this goal the winners gave their opponents hard time every now and then. Referee Hamad EL sheikh rewarded them a penalty when Al Ahli's defender Badr Abdul Rahman brought down Abdullah Mousa inside the box. Ibrahim Diaky made no mistake from the kick spot to make it 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Ricardo Oliver added the third goal eight minutes later when he was put clear to hook the ball over the advancing goalie before heading it into the empty net and Abdullah Mousa scored the fourth goal with a perfect header in the 74th minute.

The losers came close to reduce the deficit and net a consolation goal in the 81st minute through Pinga, but his rocket-like volley rebounded off the upright.  However, his teammate Ahmad Khalil compensated for the lost chance to score his team's lone goal off a penalty three minutes to time. Olivera completed the rout when he scored the fifth goal in the 90th minute with a brilliant left- footer shot to end the game with a 5-1 victory for Al Jazira.
