Al Dhafra and Dubai sign off with wins as Al Jazira and Al Wahda draw

Al Jazira 2-2 Al Wahda

Al Jazira were held to a 2-2 draw by Al Wahda at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in their final game of the season. The home side had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half, with Brazilian Fernandinho finding the net in the 21st minute and Emirati midfielder Sultan Barghash making it 2-0 in the 27th minute, but Al Wahda pulled one back before the break through Papa Waigo in the 38th minute and Mohammed Al Shehhi salvaged a late equaliser to make it 2-2 in the second minute of injury time right at the end of the game. Al Jazira are 3rd in the table with 47 points as 4th-placed Bani Yas still to play their final game on Monday. Al Wahda finish their campaign in 7th with 39 points.

Al Dhafra 2-1 Al Ahli

Al Dhafra rounded off a solid season with a 2-1 win over second-placed Al Ahli, who fielded an under-strength side as they look ahead to Tuesday’s President’s Cup final against Al Shabab. Amara Diane handed Al Dhafra a 22nd-minute lead before Makhete Diop made it 2-0 in the 61st minute. Hamad Al Hosani pulled one back in the 79th minute to make it 2-1 but the result means Al Ahli finish 2nd with 51 points and Al Dhafra currently 8th with 33, though 9th-placed Al Wasl still have a game in hand to play on Monday.

Dubai went ahead in the 64th minute as Faisal Ali converted, and Careca completed his brace in the 68th minute to make it 3-1.
