Al Ain beat Al Wahda 1-0

Al Ain thrashed their local visitors Al Wahda with a significant 1-0 victory and won their three points this evening in the smashing most crowded classico encounter that took place in Tahnoun bin Mohammad stadium in Al Ain at 8:00 pm within the Round 13 of the Etisalat Pro League competition.


It is expected not to see many goals in such a high competitive game, that’s exactly why the home team was trying to spread their dominance over the pitch from the very first moment, the first and the match single goal which came in the 11th minute gave the boss the motivation needed when Ali Al Wahibi passed the ball to his team playmaker Al Qahtani who chest it down and beautifully finished the shot inside Mutaz Abdulla’s net setting the whole pitch on fire.


Al Wahda is not an easy competitor after all, they were trying hard to create as many as goal-scoring opportunities as possible, whether when Hugo was a step away from scoring the equalizer in the 36th minute but saved by Dawoud Sulaiman or when Mohamed Al Shehi missed his merited score that passed right beside the post.


The second half that saw no additional goals was not less exciting than the first, the boss close to net their second goal when Radoi preformed a free kick assured that Mutaz Abdullah would not be able to save it but unfortunately hit the angle of the crossbar in the 51st minute. And again when Fawzy Fayez trying to avoid an off side passed the ball to Yasser Al Qahtani but it was to fast for him to catch in the 75th minute.


Eventually the hosts had the final word before their fierce opponents who missed the creativity tonight to break down the defense of the Al Ain team.


With 30 points Al Ain keep the league summit and increase their tally with 6 points ahead from the second Al Nasr who still have the chance tomorrow to move closer in the table in case they won over Ajman. While Al Wahda standing 5th with 18 points definitely hope Al Wasl won’t take their place tomorrow.
