Al Ain safe and sound
Keeping enough distance from the second place holders, top table Al Ain scored another rewarding 1-0 victory over their Dubai rivals Al Ahli in the encounter which took place at Tahnoun bin Mohammad stadium this evening at 8:30 pm in the Round 15 finale of the Etisalat Pro League competition.
Unlike other matches, the red musketeers managed to make it hard on their hosts, creating a strong wall of defense. The purples are usually used to score a safety from the very beginning, but their visitors have showed a good performance in bringing down their attempts, and unless the penalty scored by Asamoah Gyan in the 56th minute, the match could have ended with a tie.
Keeping the top table Al Ain raise their tally to 36 points, 7 points ahead from Al Jazira, while Al Ahli keep the 9th place with 17 points, yet with great expectations to have better luck before Al Shabab in the Etisalat Cup final to take place at Al Maktoum stadium on Friday May 25th at 6:15 pm.
