Al Ain celebrate league championship with 4 straight goals over Ajman

The Etisalat Pro League Champions Al Ain concluded their successful winning streak with a four straight goals victory over their counterparts Ajman in the last game played tonight at Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Stadium in Qattara to raise their balance to 55 points while the losers have 31 points that put them in 7th position. The hosts took the initiative to make some quick attempts in the opening minutes through the Saudi star Yasser Al Gahtani and Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan. They lost two successive sitters via Ismail Ahmad and Gyan in the 6th and 11th minutes. Kareem Karkar came close to open the scoring for the visiting team but his shot rebounded off the cross bar in the 14th minute. Both teams continued their attempts with Al Ain taking full domination of the game. Hassan Maatouq lost another chance for the visitors in the 28th minute when his volley was controlled by Al Ain goalkeeper Waleed Salim. Argentinian player Scocco put the winners into the lead when he scored the first goal in the 32nd minute off Asamoah’s cross ball. Tia Oliver of Ajman was put clear with only Waleed Salim to beat, but he failed to score as he sent a weak shot for Al Ain goalie to control it easily six minutes before the break and AL Gahtani lost a similar opportunity for the home squad two minutes later when Ajman goal keeper Ali Rabie saved brilliantly to end the first session with a lone goal lead for Al Ain.

Al Ain Romanian coach Cosmin brought in Ali Al Wihabi and Hilal Saeed to replace Scocco and Mohammed Abdul Rahman in the 57th minute. Al Ain continued their lovely display which resulted in the second goal which was scored by Gyan in the 64th minute and Omer Abdul Rahman made it 3-0 three minutes later. Asamoah Gyan concluded the rout in the 72nd minute when he was sent free with Omer Abdul Raman’s lovely pass to end the game with a 4-0 win for the hosts team.
