Al Ain refuse April 12 to face Nagoya

Al Ain Club management has received a letter from the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) last Friday in which they determined April 12 as a date for Al Ain v Japanese Nagoya Grampus match at Jar Stadium in the Asian Champions League Completion. The game which was scheduled earlier on March 15 was suddenly postponed due to the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last week.

Al Ain had proposed to play either on April 11 or 12 but the current environmental conditions forced them to reject the new date as they believe playing in Japan at this time is not safe due to the environmental pollution which might affect the health of the players. So Al Ain Club addressed the AFC yesterday through the UAE Football Association proposing to play with the Japanese team after meeting Hangzhou Green Town of China in the third round game due on April 6 in the same Chinese city or move the game against Nagoya to any other country nearby. Al Ain are currently waiting for a final decision from  AFC.
