Al Ain overcome Al Wasl to go into final match
Al Ain secured themselves a berth in the final match of the Etisalat Cup Competition following their hard fought 3-2 win over Dubai-based Al Wasl in the semi-final game played this evening at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The winners demonstrated a brilliant display that helped them to eliminate their rivals and move into the last stage.
Essa Ali put the losers' into the lead off a penalty kick in the 24th minute to end the first half with a 1-0 win. But Al Ain played with more concentration after the break and only five minutes had passed before defender Ismail Ahmad pulled one back with a perfect header to bring the game into the first square. But their joy did not live more than 30 seconds when Al Wasl's midfielder Yeste from Spain sent a long ball that went straight into the empty net. Al Ain's goalkeeper Dawoud Sulaiman was celebrating with his teammates the joyful moments after scoring the equalizer and at that moment he was out of his goal. The winners dominated the match afterwards and their dangerous attempts were soon rewarded when Ibrahima Keyta made it 2-2 in the 67th minute and Brazilian Elias netted the winner off a penalty kick two minutes before the final whistle.
Al Ain will face Al Shabab in the final match to determine the champions and a date for this game will be fixed later.
