Michel Bastos signs for Al Ain
Michel Bastos was officially unveiled as Al Ain’s latest signing in a press conference on Saturday night, with the Brazilian moving to the UAE just a day after his 30th birthday. The tricky winger spent the second half of last season on loan at German giants Schalke 04, but joins Al Ain from parent club Lyon, for whom he has played since 2009. His previous clubs also include Lille and Feyenoord, and Bastos has 10 international caps for Brazil.
Speaking at his official unveiling at the Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain last night, Bastos said: “I am very happy to join Al Ain and hope to be a strong addition to the team. I’m well aware of Al Ain’s history and achievements, and the Club has a great track record both domestically and regionally, so I am here to serve the team with my fellow players and hopefully achieve the aspirations of the Club’s management and bring happiness to its wonderful fans.”
