Al Ain Escape Dubai Surprise

Al Ain opened their account in this year's Etisalat Pro-League with an interesting 4-3 win against newcomers Dubai in front of a big crowd at Al Qattara stadium in Al Ain on Saturday.

Al Ain owe their win for their Argentinean forward Jose Sand who scored a brace on the night while Omar Abdulrahman had an impressive display. Dubai had a good performance on the night and their French forward Michael Laurent Ndri showed good skills by scoring two goals.

Al Ain had the first danger in the game after only two minutes when Rami Yaslam fired a powerful shot from 20-yards but the ball went next to the right upright of Dubai goal.

Al Ain were rewarded a spot kick when Michael Laurent Ndri handed the ball inside the area but Jose Sand hit the ball directly into the left upright. Al Ain paid for their miss as Dubai opened the scoring through Ndri with a powerful shot into the left upright past Al Ain goalkeeper.

However, Al Ain managed to get back to the game as they leveled the scores on 31 minutes when Omar Abdulrahman sent a neat pass to Sand who headed home into the net.

Abdurahlam turned from provider to scorer four minutes later as he fired a powerful free kick from the right into the right corner to give the lead for his side who added a third goal as Sand converted a spot kick in the last seconds of the first half.

Dubai pulled goal back through Ndri who went on the right flank and had a powerful shot over Al Ain goalkeeper to make it 3-2 (51).

However, Al Ain regained their two-goal cushion as Abdulaziz Fayez scored the fourth goal for his side with 20 minutes before Dubai scored their third goal through their Belgian midfielder Rachid Tiberkanin seven minutes later.
