Al Ain officially introduce Jorge Fossati as Head Coach

Al Ain officially introduced Jorge Fossati as the Club’s new Head Coach in a press conference at the Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium on Sunday night. The 60-year-old Uruguayan was welcomed by a large number of fans who turned out to be present at his appointment, before watching him take charge of his first training session with the squad. Speaking about his appointment, the former AFC Champions League-winning coach said: “It gives me such a happy feeling to be here and it is an honour to take this role as Head Coach of Al Ain Club; one of the biggest clubs in the Gulf. Whilst I cannot promise results – only God can do that – I can promise that we will work very hard and take everything very seriously for the coming season. I thank you all very much for this special welcome and for your confidence in me, and we will do our best to ensure that Al Ain will have a very, very happy 2013/2014 season.”

Fossati admitted that he followed the Etisalat Pro League closely last season but he wishes to become even better acquainted with the teams and players who will be plying their trade in the Arabian Gulf League, not least his own. “Of course I know the Al Ain team but this general knowledge is not enough. I need to know them better, and I’m excited to start the job because I will be able to get more familiar with the players and make decisions as soon as possible, to prepare us in the best way for the new season,” Fossati added.
