Al Ain beat leaders Al Jazira 4-2 to take runner up

Al Ain raised their tally to seven points and moved provisionally to second spot in Group "A" prior to Al Wasl and Dubai match which will kick off tomorrow on Dubai Sports and Cultural Club Stadium after defeating Al Jazira, leaders of the group, 4-2 in the concluding game of the 4th round of Etisalat Cup Competition played tonight on Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Shabab Club. It was the first loss for Al Jazira since the start of the competition.
The two teams played a balanced match and demonstrated a neat football despite of playing without of a number of their key players who are currently in national duties.
The two squads made some several attacks in the opening minutes but failed to score. It took Al Ain only 20 minutes into the game before they take the lead when the referee awarded them a penalty kick. Abdul Aziz Fayez collected the ball and penetrated from the right flank for Saleh Obaid to foul him inside the box. The Romanian midfielder Radoi made no mistake from the kick spot when he converted the ball into the right hand side of Al Jazira's custodian. The losers doubled their efforts looking for the equalizer but Al Ain defenders stood solid on their way spoiling all their attempts. Brazilian Oliveira leveled the score in the 31st minute capitalizing on an error committed by Al Ain's defender Mohammad Ali Ayedh. Delgado put his team into the lead 8 minutes after the interval off a penalty and Radio brought the game to the golden squre in the 70th minute with another penalty kick after the ball touched Oliveira's hand. Mohammad Salim made it 3-2 for Al Ain five minutes later and Radio concluded the rout scoring the 4th goal in the 83rd minute to secure a 4-2 win for his side.
Both Saleh Obaid of Al Jazira and Mohammad Salim Al Saedi from Al Ain were shown the red card.
