Al Ahli overcome Al Shabab and move to fifth position

Al Ahli jumped to fifth place of the Etisalat Pro – League Championship with a record of 7 points following their 5-1 fourth round win over their city rivals Al Shabab at Rashid Stadium in Al Ahli Club while their rivals’ balance was frozen at 3 points taking 11th spot. Al Ahli dominated most parts of the first session that helped them to net two goals through the Brazilian player Graffiti in the 16th minute and Cameroonian Eman in the 31st minute

Graffiti came to add the third goal only two minutes after the breather with an individual effort, but Al Shabab reduced the deficit with Esam Dhahi’s perfect header in the 60th minute off a flag kick.

The Chilean player Jimenez made things difficult for Al Shabab when he netted Al Ahli’s fourth goal in the 70th minute and Graffiti made it 5-1 scoring his third personal goal ten minutes before the final whistle off a penalty kick to secure three valuable points for his side.

In the last match of the day held at Al Shamkha Stadium, Bani Yas snatched full points defeating visiting team Al Shaab 4-2 in the same round to move to third place with 9 points while Al Shaab have 6 points that classify them in 8th spot. Sengahor opened the score in the 11th minute for the home team and his Australian colleague added the second 6 minutes before the break to end the first session with a 2-0 lead.

Sengahor netted another goal only 6 minutes into the second half before French striker Michael Laurent pulled one back to make it 3-1 in the 70th minute. Sengahor came to score a hat trick one minute before time and Michael Laurent reduced the deficit in the third minute of the stoppage time.
