Al Shabab beat Al Ahli 3-2 in a thrilling encounter

Al Shabab raised their tally to 24 points following their 3-2 victory over Al Ahli

in the match played tonight on Rashid Stadium in Dubai within the 14th round of the Pro-League Competition of the current season. The losers are currently staying in the 7th position with 17 points.

The two teams demonstrated a thrilling and brilliant performance from the very beginning of the match. They created several chances, but could not find the back of the net. Achille Emana, ALAhli's striker, was almost to put his side into the lead, when he capitalized on a severe blunder committed by the visiting team's defense, but he shot wide despite of the open goal in the 15th minute. Both teams went on their attempts and it was Kieza who came close to open the score for ALshabab, but his close-range shot went just near to the left upright.

AL shabab were the better side as they dominated the match giving the hosts hard time and their efforts were soon rewarded when Bader Abdulrahman fouled Waleed Abbas inside the box in the 28th minute for a penalty. Brazilian striker Ciel made no mistake when he converted the ball into the net to the right hand side of the goalkeeper Obaid AL Taweela. ALshabab's defender Waleed Abbas saved the day for his squad when Graffiti received a perfect pass from Achille Emana and sent the ball towards the empty net, but Waleed cleared it before it crosses the goal line. Emana brought the game back to the first square with a strong shot from outside the box in the 37th minute to level the square. But AL shabab took the lead again two minutes later through Waleed Abbas who netted the second goal with a strong left footer.

Ismail AL Hamadi was brought down inside the box for a penalty which converted by Brazilian Grafite in the 47th minute to end the first session with a 2-2 draw.

Ciel lost a lovely opportunity only four minutes after the break when he was put free with only the goalie to beat but he sent the ball over the cross bar. AL shabab created a number of scoring chances in the second half and came close to score in many occasions. Kieza scored the third goal for AL shabab off Ciel's cross ball from the right flank in the 71th minute. The visitors would have netted the 4th goal had not for Essa Obaid squandered a similar chance one minute later when he failed to drive the ball into the wide open net which was crossed by Ciel from the same spot. The home team made every bit of effort to level the score but Al Shabab's defenders led by Essa Mohammad, spoiled their entire attempts. Things remained the same till the final whistle with Al Shabab collecting three invaluable points with a 3-2 win.
