Al Ahli overcome Dubai 5-2

Dubai-based Al Ahli maintained a big 5-2 win over Dubai in their Etisalat Pro League 18 round match played tonight at Rashid Stadium in Al Ahli Club. The winners ended the first session with a 4-2 lead. They raised their balance to 22 points while Dubai are staying second from bottom with 11 points, one point ahead of bottom-placed Sharjah and three points behind Emirates who are taking 10th position.

The Al Ahli Lebanese professional player Yousuf Mohammed opened the score only 8 minutes into play and Brazilian Graffiti made 2-0 ten minutes later. The hosts were the better side after controlling the game from the very beginning amid some movements built up by the losers but failed to find the target. Luis Jiminez made things difficult for the losers when he netted the third goal in the 23rd minute. But Hassan Abdul Rahman succeeded in reducing the deficit in the 31st minute and Graffiti made it 4-1 in the 34th minute before Hassan Mohammed reduced the deficit again three minutes later to end the first half with a 4-2 lead for Al Ahli.

The two teams went on exerting more efforts after the breather but all their work was in vain. Graffiti scored the lone goal of the second session in the 93rd minute giving his side a 5-2 win.
