Al Ahli to face Al Shabab in the Etisalat Cup final
With a solitary goal Al Ahli successfully qualified to the Etisalalt Cup final after beating their local rivals Al Wasl in the exciting tough Etisalat Cup semifinals which took place in Rashid Stadium this evening at 8:30 pm.
The first half was a game of defense, both sides seemed awakened and cautious of each other’s attempts to get closer to the net. Luis Jiminez had to leave the pitch early in the 18th minute for injury and was replaced by Faisal Khalil. But nobody could tell at that moment that the substitute will be the red musketeers’ ticket to the finals.
The match single score came in the second half when Faisal Khalil brilliantly received the ball from Ismael Al Hammadi and turned it into a rewarding shot in the 61st minute. From that moment on Al Wasl were trying hard to level the score and it was Khalatbari who had more than one chance to do it but the night belonged to the reds.
