Ajman v Al Shabab Pre-Match Press Conferences

Ajman coach Abdulwahab Abdulkadir has demanded that his players be cautious as they host Al Shabab on Sunday, noting that there is no room for error against a strong side who, although losing in their midweek AFC Champions League encounter at Lekhwiya, showed a good level of performance in Qatar and are still on an impressive domestic unbeaten run. Abdulkadir also pointed out the key players amongst Al Shabab’s ranks – the likes of Ciel, Edgar and Haydarov Azizbek – who have the ability to be the difference for their side in any game. The Iraqi coach insists his side is well-prepared for the encounter, and advised that any team facing Al Shabab must double their efforts in order to secure a positive result.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game, Al Shabab’s manager Marcos Paqueta said: “Ajman will be a tough game; they have a good team and it will be difficult in particular as the game is held in front of their home fans. We must respect our opponents because they have many excellent qualities, but we are desperate to get the three points, as the main objective of the team is to finish in the top 4 in the League.” The Brazilian coach is determined to keep his side on track in each different tournament they compete in: “We are focusing on each game one at a time, competition by competition, step by step. For now what’s important is getting three points from the Ajman game in the Etisalat Pro League, and when the time comes for another match in another competition, we will direct our focus towards it,” he explained.
