Ajman v Dubai Pre-Match Press Conferences

Ajman head coach Abdulwahab Abdulkadir expects a tough test as his side welcome Dubai to the Rashid bin Saeed Stadium at 5:50pm on Saturday, and warns that the visitors’ current form is not an accurate reflection of the abilities of the team. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Abdulkadir said; “Dubai’s recent results do not reflect their capabilities. Every game is different, but our previous fixture against them earlier in the season was a pretty equal game although they managed to beat us by a single goal.” The Iraqi manager added; “Our aim this season is to stay in the Pro League and improve our position in the table, which we can do with a win in this match as we are level on 19 points with Dubai, who are one place above us in 10th.” Abdulkadir also praised the performance of his number two goalkeeper Jaber Jasim, who stood in for the injured Yousef Abdulla in the Etisalat Cup semi-final on Monday night, and ensured Ajman’s place in the final with a late penalty save. “Our goalkeepers are always ready to go into games when called upon and Jaber’s performance in the Etisalat Cup semi-final against Al Shabab was certainly worthy of plaudits,” he said.

Dubai’s under-pressure manager Rene Marsiglia is aware his side is in desperate need of a League win to turn their recent misfortune around, having trailed off after a strong start to the season. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Frenchman said; “I already spoke about the power and strength of Ajman before our previous fixture against them earlier in the season, and my words have been proved correct. We must focus and work hard on getting an elusive win to restore positivity to our team.”
