Al Nasr stay as runner up with a 2-1 win over Ajman

Dubai-based Al Nasr came from behind when they were one goal down to beat Ajman with a 2-1 victory in the match played this evening on Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium within the 13th round of the Pro-League Competition for the current season. The winners raised their tally to 27 points to keep their three-point difference behind leaders Al Ain and stay one point ahead of third-placed Al Jazira. While the losers' balance was frozen at 15 points that put them in their previous 8th spot.

The visitors pressed hard from the very beginning to give their opponents hard time but they lost three successive sitters in the first opening seven minutes through Mark Bresciano, Luca Toni and Amara Diane. Amid Al Naser's continuous attempts, Boris Kabi succeeded in giving his team the lead when he was put free with a long pass 10 minutes into play with only the goalkeeper to beat. He controlled the ball and with great confidence he hooked it over the head of the advancing custodian Abdullah Mousa. But Luca Toni leveled the score in the 27th minute to end the first session with a 1-1 result.

Ajman looked the better side after the break but they were unlucky as they lost all the chances that came their way. Al Nasr played defensively and relied heavily on counter attacks that resulted in the winner which was netted by Luca Toni 12 minutes before the final whistle to secure a 2-1 win for his team.
