Ajman v Al Dhafra Pre-Match Press Conferences
Ajman head coach Abdulwahab Abdulkader is hoping to guide his side to further victories following recent positive results, saying: “We aim to continue winning, especially with the players in high spirits and performing very well in training as we prepare for our game against a strong Al Dhafra team.” Describing Al Dhafra’s style of play as ‘diligent’ and ‘industrious’, Abdulkader has called on his players to take the game very seriously in order to keep up their impressive run of form.
Opposing coach Laurent Banide, meanwhile, is wary of the effect the state of Ajman’s pitch will have on his Al Dhafra team’s performance. “The pitch at Ajman’s stadium is not good and will affect the players, particularly in the way they are able to control the ball. This is what I have seen from television, so perhaps the situation will be even worse in reality,” the Frenchman said at his pre-match press conference. He did, however, spare some praise for the Ajman team: “I am very familiar with the threats the Ajman players can pose, and in some ways we are similar to Ajman in that when I took over as coach here my target was to keep the Club in the Etisalat Pro League, but of course I don’t mind our improved position now, and we are still looking for further wins, so I have warned the players not to relax as Ajman have a strong attacking threat with the likes of Boris Kabi and Founeke Sy.” Al Dhafra are currently 8th in the League with 24 points, whilst Ajman are 10th with 22, so a win for either side would go a long way in securing safety.
