Al Ahli outclass Ajman 2-1 to move to second place

Al Ahli were back to Dubai with a 2-1 win over hosts Ajman in their Etisalat Pro League 12th round match held this evening at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium to add three points to their balance that helped them to move forward and take second position with a record of 25 points while Ajman stepped down taking 11th spot with 12 points.

The visiting team put their opponents under continuous pressure from the very beginning looking for an early goal that could cool them down and give them more confidence. They intensified their attacks from the right flank which affected their rivals’ defenders and made their performance a little bit shaky. They created a series of opportunities which some of them were spoiled by Ajman’s defenders and goalkeeper and the remaining were squandered by their front liners. Graffiti was the first to score giving his team a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute with a shot from inside the six yard area and Eman made it    2-0 one minute before the break.

The losers recovered in the second session exerting some good efforts which resulted in their lone goal through Boris Cabi four minutes after the interval. This goal made the game a thriller and boosted the morals of both teams’ players. Emana was unhappy to see his strong shot being deflected by the goalkeeper Yousuf Abdullah to a corner in the 71st minute. Four minutes after Emana’s chance, the match referee gave Ajman’s defender Khalaf Ismail marching orders after collecting two yellow cards for his team to play the last 15 minutes with ten players. Founeke Sy lost a valuable sitter in the 79th minute when his header went onto the cross bar with the goal wide open. The two sides failed to add more goals in the last minutes to end the game with a 2-1 win in favor of Al Ahli.
