Arabian Gulf League sets out to be bolder, faster and stronger

The past few days have seen the squads of all 14 professional UAE clubs return to home soil following their pre-season training camps in Europe as we enter the final stage of preparation for the new Arabian Gulf League season. The start of the 2013/14 campaign marks the dawn of the sixth season of professional football in the country; a season which we enter carrying the powerful new name of the Arabian Gulf League.

And with the new name comes a new logo, designed to embody the bolder, faster, stronger new image of the Arabian Gulf League. By using bold, dynamic shapes and colours in the new branding and logo, the extra competitive edge to the League is reflected. The logo – an abstract representation of the map of the United Arab Emirates, furnished with the colours of the national flag – is also a symbol of national pride.

Organised by the Pro League Committee, the Arabian Gulf League runs in conjunction with three further competitions; namely the UAE League Cup, the Reserve League and the Arabian Gulf Super Cup, and whilst adopting these titles for the first time, all teams will be increasingly keen to etch their names in the history books as the inaugural winners of the rebranded competitions. Embarking upon the 2013/14 season as a new chapter in professional football in the UAE, we hope to see the strength of the Arabian Gulf League name reflected in our teams’ performances on the pitch, as we anticipate the most competitive and hotly-contested League campaign seen to date.
