H.E Mohammed Thani Murshed Al Romaithi welcomed his peers and all guests to the press conference, thanking them for their attendance for the important announcement, particularly on a Friday. The Chairman of the Pro League Committee officially introduced Arabian Gulf Development as the Title Sponsor for the 2013/14 season, confirming a one-year renewable partnership deal with the company. “Negotiations with Arabian Gulf Development began towards the end of April this year, and we are delighted to be able to officially announce this partnership now. Note that we refer to Arabian Gulf Development as a partner – not only a sponsor – as we hope to develop a wholesome and fruitful relationship with them,” H.E. Mohammed Thani Murshed Al Romaithi said.

Speaking about the new partnership, H.E. Ali Majed Al Mansouri, Chairman of Arabian Gulf Development, commented: “We are looking forward to the new season beginning tomorrow as we start this new strategic partnership with the Arabian Gulf League. Given the strength and success of the League already after only five years, we feel that the sum we are investing for this first year of the contract – 70 million AED – is definitely worth it. The contract is a one-year renewable deal but we fully intend to renew and we anticipate a mutually beneficial partnership.” Touching on Arabian Gulf Development’s position as ‘more than just a sponsor’ H.E. Ali Majed Al Mansouri added: “Our company believes in social responsibility and we will be more than happy to get involved with any opportunities to serve the public and the fans of football in the UAE through this partnership with the Arabian Gulf League.”
