Al Nasr face Saudi team Al Ahli in a tough match
Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia will take on their UAE counterparts Al Nasr in the 2012 AFC Champions League 4th round match which will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, April 18 at prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, kick off at 9:45 (Saudi Arabia timing). Al Nasr are currently taking third position in Group “C” with a balance of three points, one point behind host team Al Ahli who are staying in second place with four points. Sepahan Esfahan of Iran are on top of the group with seven points while the Qatari side Lekhwia are sitting at the bottom of the table with three points on goal difference from Al Nasr. All Group “C” teams have the right to compete for the two berths to qualify to the last 16 stage.
The UAE team Al Nasr will miss in tomorrow’s game the efforts of their Italian International star Luca Toni and goalkeeper Ahmed Shambeya due to injury along with Talal Ahmed for suspension by the National Committee for Anti – Doping.
On the other hand, Al Nasr’s mission left for Jeddah yesterday afternoon headed by Abdullah Al Bannai Member of the Club’s Board of Directors, Chairman of the Technical Committee. According to the prescheduled training program, Al Nasr players will conduct their lone and last training session this evening on the match’s pitch.
It seems that the Saudi team Al Ahli will face their rivals Al Nasr with some regret and depression after losing the Professional Zain League title following a 1-1 draw with their hosts contenders Al Shabab who finished the season with 64 points, two more points than Al Ahli who collected 62 points.
It is worth mentioning that officials from South Korea will lead the match, while Kamel Tukabaev from Kyrgyzstan will be the match commissioner.
