12 Professional teams compete in Etisalat Cup in three days

After a three-day break, the 12 professional teams will recommence their struggle in the 6th week of the Etisalat Cup competition for three days starting from tomorrow Tuesday November 30th. The squads have recently finished the 1st round of the championship with Al Ain and Dubai-based Al Wasl staying on top of the "A" and "B" groups respectively with nine points each. Starting from this stage, all teams are likely to exert more efforts trying to collect more points so as to keep their hopes alive to qualify to the semifinals of the Etisalat Cup. The first day of this stage will confine to one game when Al Wahda travels to Dubai to meet their rivals Dubai team at 6:15pm.

The competition will stop for one day before it comes to restart on Thursday December 2nd with two games. Al Jazira will also travel to the Eastern region to face Kalba in the first encounter of the second day at 4:40pm and Al Nasr will play at home against Al Ain, kick off at 8pm.

This week's matches will be concluded on Friday December 3rd with three matches with Sharjah playing against Al Shabab at 4:50pm, Al Dhafra facing Bani Yas, kick off at 4:55pm and Al Ahli hosting their city competitors Al Wasl in a thrilling derby.

Al Wahda were back from Egypt before three days after holding a warm-up camp there as they are currently preparing for the FIFA Clubs World Cup championship due to kick off in Abu Dhabi on December 8th. They played their last matches in the Etisalat Cup with the reserve team, but they are going to have all their key players in tomorrow's match against Dubai. Their technical body is currently preparing both players; goalkeeper Adil Al Hosani who was in China with the Olympic team and defender Mahmoud Khamis who did not take part in the team's external camp because he was having exams. Al Wahda have four points that see them at the bottom of group "B" after losing three games to Al Ain 0-2, to Bani Yas 1-2 and to Al Nasr with a solitary goal, drawing with Al Dhafra 1-1 and beating Dubai 4-2.

Their rivals Dubai are staying in the 5th position with 5 points following their two draws against Al Dhafra 2-2 and Al Ain 1-1 before losing to Al Nasr 3-4. They came in the 4th week to beat Bani Yas 2-0 but they lost to Al Wahda 2-4 in their last game.

When this stage is over, the Etisalat Cup Competition will stop for almost four weeks as the Etisalat Pro- League Championship will come to restart on December 9th after a six-week stoppage.
