Gallo: The final result was painful

Al Ain Senior Football Team's Brazilian coach Alexander Gallo assured that Al Ain demonstrated a strong tactical game in the first session of the match after putting more pressure on their rivals Al Shabab which resulted in creating a number of scoring chances but they lost all of them. He said the winners made things difficult for his team when their players recovered after the break and upgraded the level of their technical standard. This came in the outset of his speech at the post press conference held at Moahmmed Bin Zayed Stadium on Friday evening April 29 after the Etisalat Cup final game between Al Ain and their counterpart Al Shabab who won 3-2 to snatch the title for the first time.

Gallo extended his deep congratulations to Al shabab squad for winning this championship pointing out that the result was painful and the winners' third goal which was scored in the injury time, was very sad.

In response to a question about his team's defensive tactics and dependence on counter attacks mainly in the last minutes of the second session, Galo explained that he had trained his players in the last few days prior to the match to how to apply counter attacks, filling gaps and strengthening the back line, pointing out that Al Ain's defense stood solid until their contenders scored the equalizer with the help of Julio Cesar, Villanueva and Jociel Da Silva (Ciel).

Commenting on the fluctuation of the Al Ain team's performance, the Brazilian coach noted that the drop in the standard of any team is something normal and what happened to Al Ain was due to the circumstances of the match after facing a strong team and that does not mean that Al Ain was a weak team but Al Shabab's three professional players made the difference..

Asked about whether the lineup who played against Al Shabab will take part in the 2011 AFC Champions League game against Seoul of South Korea on Wednesday May 4, Gallo said no one of them will play against the Korean side because they are currently focusing on the Etisalat Pro-League and how to avoid relegation.

Al Ain's coach summarized his team's main problem in squandering a number of sitters and at the same time conceding easy goals. "We have to draw our attention to this problem because it always costs the team much". Added Gallo.
