Four UAE teams take part in the Asia’s premier club competition 2011

The UAE AL Wahda champions of the UFL in the last season, will play in group "C" in the Asia's premier club competition 2011 along with Piroozi (IRN), Al Ittihad (KSA) and Bunyodkor (UZB).The matches of all groups will commence on first March 2011 and will be played on round- robin basis with the first and second teams in each group proceed directly into the pre-quarter stage. This was announced in the draw ceremony organized at Hilton Hotel in Kuala Lambur that took place on Thursday December 7 in the presence of the AFC officials and the representatives of the participating clubs in the UFC premier club and Federation Cup competitions.

Al Jazira who finished as runners-up last season are to play in group 'A' with Al Hilal (KSA), Al Gharafa (QAT) and Sepahan (IRN), while Emirates (UAE) champions of the UAE president's cup who participate for the first time, will play in group 'D' competing against  Al Rayyan (QAT),  Zob Ahan (IRN) and Al Shabab (KSA).

The draw also saw Al Sad of Qatar to play against Al Ittihad of Syria in Doha and the winners will host Jumpo of India. The team who emerge winners in the play-off which will be determined on February 19, will join Pakhtakor (UZB), Iran's Esteghlal and the debutants Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia.

Inaugural AFC Champions League winners Al Ain,  are to face the winners of Sriwijaya's play-off with Thailand Premier League champions Muangthong United, which takes place in Indonesia on February 12. The winners in this play-off game are likely to join group 'F' to meet with Hangzhou Greentown (CHN), FC Seoul (KOR) and Nagoya Grampus (JPN).
