UFL Statement Regarding Friendly Match between Hamburg SV and Al Wahda

The UAE Football League would like to clarify that it has no official involvement in the planned friendly match on January 4, 2011 between Hamburg SV of Germany and Al Wahda FC of the UAE.

This match is being organized by Germany's Bundesliga and Dubai Sports Channel.

In contrast to recent comments and reports in the media, this match is not an annual match between the Super Cup Champions of Germany and the Super Cup Champions of UAE. Rather, this match is a friendly game being organized as part of Hamburg SV's training camp in Dubai and it was on their request that an invitation was sent to Al Wahda Club to participate.
