UAE National Football Team face South Korea, Lebanon and Kuwait in the World Cup qualifier

The UAE National Football Team will tackle it out against, South Korea, Lebanon and Kuwait which were classified in the second group of the Asian third stage World Cup qualifiers in Brazil 2014. This was the outcome of the draw held yesterday in Rio de Janeiro and attended by Joseph Blatter, President of the Federation Internationale De Football Association (FIFA), who expressed his happiness of the return of the World Cup to Brazil after being absent for 64 years, as Brazil has organized the fourth edition in 1950.
The distribution of the other Asian National Teams to the other groups came as follows: Group "A": China, Jordan, Iraq, and Singapore. Group "C": Japan, Syria, Uzbekistan, North Korea. Group "D": Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand. Group "E": Qatar, Iran, Bahrain, Indonesia.

Each group will play its matches in a round-robin basis with the top two squads in each group qualify for the final stage where the 10 qualifying teams will be distributed into two groups. The two top teams who emerge as winners in each of the two groups are likely to proceed directly to the finals of the 2014 Brazil World Cup. The two teams who take third positions will face each other to determine the Asian team who will meet fifth-placed team of South America in the playoff match.
175 out of 203 National teams will participate in the qualifications stage, as the rest of the teams were knocked out in the preliminary stages. The number of qualifying matches played in all continents is 824 games. The matches will kick off this summer, and will last until November 2013 where31 teams will qualify for the finals in Brazil, in addition to the host country who plays only in the final stage. The matches of the World Cup finals will be held in several Brazilian cities during the period from 12 June until July 13, 2014.
